MANKATO, Minn. - Sophomore Nicole Germaine scored 4:11 into overtime to give the Minnesota State Mavericks a 3-2 victory over the Mercyhurst women's hockey team on Friday night at the All Seasons Arena in Mankato, Minnesota. The loss dropped the Lakers to 1-2 in the young season, while the Mavericks improved to 3-0.

Minnesota State's Emmi Leinonen scored at the 16:15 mark of the first period, giving the hosts a 1-0 advantage. Lauren Smith picked up her first of three assists on the night. The Mavericks held an 11-9 shot advantage after the first 20 minutes.
The lead would remain 1-0 until Leinonen scored her second of the night at 9:07 of the third period. Smith and former Laker

Pattenden dropped to 1-2 on the season, stopping 24 of 27 Minnesota State shots. Meanwhile, Alli Altmann stopped 27 of 29 Laker shots, including three saves in overtime, to improve to 2-0 on the campaign.
