MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Mercyhurst College women's hockey team was ranked No. 1 in the USCHO.com Women's Division I Poll, released Monday by USCHO.com.

The Lakers earned 150 points and all 15 first-place votes to hold the top ranking for the fourth-straight week.

Minnesota Duluth placed second with 133 points while Minnesota earned third with 121. Both teams swept their respective Western Collegiate Hockey Association Playoff series last weekend.

Harvard captured the fourth spot with 98 points, while New Hampshire rounded out the top-5 in fifth with 88 points.

Clarkson (65), Connecticut (58), Cornell (42), Northeastern (26) and Quinnipiac (14) solidified the poll in spots 6 – 10.

Mercyhurst opens up play at the 2010 College Hockey America Tournament on Friday, March 5 against either Wayne State or Robert Morris at 4 p.m. at City Sports Arena.
