Men's Hockey Graduate Lundin Signs With AHL Team

NORFOLK, Va. - Mercyhurst College men's hockey alumni Matt Lundin has signed a Professional Tryout Contract with the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League, team officials announced on Wednesday. Norfolk is the top minor-league affiliate of the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning.

Lundin, a goaltender from Apple Valley, Minn., spent the past season playing for the Muskegeon Lumberjacks of the International Hockey League. With the Lumberjacks, he appeared in 24 games, posting a 16-5-1 record with a 2.82 goals against average and a .906 save percentage.

A 2009 graduate of Mercyhurst, Lundin played two seasons for the Lakers after transferring from the University of Maine. In 66 games played between the two schools, Lundin accumulated a 25-25-5 record with a 2.25 goals against average and a .931 save percentage.

For Lundin, this will be his third professional team in the past year, after spending time with the Alaska Aces of the East Coast Hockey League last season and Muskegeon this season.
