Zank was one of the more dominant defensive players in Laker history, playing from 1983 to 86. Jim recorded 161 tackles in 28 games, adding on with 39 tackles for a loss and 21 sacks. 

Zank is the all-time leader in sacks with 21 while also holding the record sacks in a season with 11 and five in one game. For his efforts on the defensive line, Zack was named to the DIII All-American First Team member, making him one of the more decorated and prolific players in Laker history.
