Mercyhurst University Athletics

The 2010 Mercyhurst football team etched its name in the history books with a historic season, becoming the first team in program history to win a PSAC Championship and earn a berth in the NCAA Division II playoffs. The Lakers finished the season with a 10-3 record, including a 6-1 mark in PSAC West play. Under the leadership of head coach Marty Schaetzle, the team reached the NCAA Division II Quarterfinals, marking the deepest postseason run in program history. The Lakers' offense was dynamic, averaging 30.7 points per game, while the defense was stout, allowing just 17.6 points per contest. This remarkable season cemented the 2010 team's legacy as one of the greatest in Mercyhurst football history.
