Dave Armstrong

Armstrong started for three seasons as an offensive lineman for the Mercyhurst Football team. He excelled both on the field and in the classroom. He was named to the 1985 All-District Team and was a GTE Academic All-American. Armstrong was also a Rhodes Scholar candidate and was the Student Government President.

After completing his college career, he played semi-professional football for the Cleveland Falcons in 1988. Armstrong returned to his alma mater and, among other roles, served as an assistant coach for seven years.

After leaving Mercyhurst, he went on to become the head football coach and athletic director at Thiel College from 1997-2000. He then served as the athletic director at Holy Name High School until 2003 before taking a role at Notre Dame College.

Armstrong is currently the Vice President of Development and Legal Counsel at Notre Dame College where he serves the President at a Cabinet Level position and oversees seven major divisions in the College. He also held the titles of Dean of Undergraduate Admissions and Legal Counsel (2003-07) and Vice President for Enrollment and General Counsel (2007-11). In addition, he teaches various pre-law-related classes during the academic year. 

Most notably, Armstrong is a proud husband and father of two children. Leslie is an Intervention Specialist in the Garfield Heights School District for the last nine years. David and Johanna attend St. Barnabas Grade School in Northfield Center, Ohio.
