Bestland also guided Mercyhurst to three appearances in the National Tournament with the team advancing past the quarterfinals in back-to-back seasons in 2013 and 2014.

Bestland was named to the College Hockey America Rookie Team in 2011 and was named the Player of the Year in both 2013 and 2014. Christine was twice the captain of the women’s hockey program, doing so for the 2012-13 season and then again in 2013-14. She was a four-time All-American during her time on the ice for the Lakers.

Bestland proved to be one of the top offensive options in school history with 116 goals and 110 assists to her line for a total of 226 points, the second most in program history. Her best offensive campaign came during the 2013-14 season when she had 54 points, claiming the College Hockey America scoring trophy while garnering All-USCHO and ACHA/CCM All-American Third Team honors.

?Christine played for Canada Hockey’s Program of Excellence and the Canadian National Women’s Under-18 team for three seasons prior to her time as a Laker, including a bronze medal in 2008 at the National Women’s Under 18 Championships. In 15 games for the Under-18 team, she scored 10 goals while recording seven assists for a total of 17 points. Bestland also spent time as a member of the Canadian National Women’s Under 22 Developmental Team that won a gold medal in the Meco Cup in January of 2013.
