Casey Crawford was a member of the Mercyhurst Baseball team as he competed for the Lakers from 1993 until 1996. A right-handed pitcher from Mill Village, Pa., Crawford was a key member of a Mercyhurst pitching staff that helped the Lakers to the 1996 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship.
Crawford was a Third Team All-American as a sophomore. He earned All-Region honors twice – once on the North Atlantic Region First Team as a sophomore and then on the North Central Region Second Team as a senior. He was also named to the GLIAC All-Conference First Team as a senior.
He was a team leader in several categories. Crawford led the team in strikeouts as a freshman and tied for the team lead in wins as a sophomore. During his senior year, when the Lakers advanced to the NCAA Tournament, he was second on the team in wins and starts.
