Former Mercyhurst College Tennis standout Andy Findlay was inducted into the Mercyhurst College Athletic Hall of Fame Saturday, May 22, 2004, during the Athletic Department's annual Senior Student-Athlete Recognition Luncheon at the college's Egan Hall Dining Room.

Findlay graduated from Mercyhurst in 1981 with 3.4 QPA in Communications, an 81-32 singles record, and a 72-27 doubles mark. He was a four-time First Team All-American and Academic All-American. He also successfully coached the Laker men from 1982-1986. Currently, Findlay is the Head Tennis Pro at Pennbriar Athletic Club in Erie. Between 1992 and 2003, he was the Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach at nearby Edinboro University.

Additionally, he owns and operates the Intense Tennis Camps in western Pennsylvania. and, with former Mercyhurst College Tennis Coach Ray Yost, is part-owner of Tennis Unlimited, a tennis management company.

Findlay served as co-Head Coach at the USTA Competition Training Center in Pittsburgh and has attended 14 national workshops. He also coached the USTA/Middle States Boy's 18's Jr. Davis Cup team in South Carolina in July. In 1999, he completed both the USTA High Performance program in Miami and the USTA's Sport Science Level I and II testing. He won the national USTA Collegiate Community Service Award for Division II schools.

He won men's Coach of the Year honors in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in 2000 and 2003 and as Allegheny Mountain District's winner in 1992 and 1996. Findlay and his four-year college coach, Dennis Ranalli, were ranked #1 in USTA/Middle States 35's doubles in 1991.
