Schonhoff was the ACWPA National Player of the Year in 2008 and was a three-time ACWPA First Team All-American and a three-time Academic All-American. He is second on the program's all-time list in career goals and career points - records he held until 2013. He played professionally for three seasons after his graduation - two years in New Zealand's First Division and one year in Germany's Second Division.
