WEST CHESTER, Pa. - The Mercyhurst University men's tennis team saw its 2013-14 season come to an end on Thursday afternoon after suffering a 5-1 loss in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference semifinals against the Fighting Scots of Edinboro in West Chester. The Lakers finish the season with a 7-9 overall record while Edinboro advances to the title match against Kutztown on Friday afternoon.
The Lakers picked up their only victory of the afternoon at #2 doubles when the Mercyhurst tandem of sophomore

Daniel Gimenez picked up an 8-4 win over Edinboro's Brandon Romain and Bruno Borja.
Edinboro took a 2-1 lead in singles competition and then won three consecutive solo matches to clinch the victory. Sophomore

Eric Drusko, and Gimenez all had their matches completed and all suffered straight-set losses. Beck took Edinboro's Matias Aignasse to the wire in the #1 match, but dropped a 6-4, 7-5 decision.

Ross Molinaro IV could not complete their matches due to Edinboro clinching the victory.
Mercyhurst went 7-9 overall and finished 3-2 in the PSAC.
