Women's Water Polo to Travel to Bucknell For Southerns

ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst women's water polo team heads to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, for the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Southern Championships Saturday, April 14, and Sunday, April 15. The Lakers face Harvard in the first round on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and then take on Brown at 4:30 p.m.

Coach Curtis Robinette's team has won its last two outings, beating Penn State Behrend, 13-3, and Notre Dame College, 10-8, to improve to 9-14 this season. Lisett Calderon leads the Lakers with 46 goals, while Allie Grimes has 29 goals and 18 assists. Senior goalie Hope Rozelle has already set a new single-season record
 
Harvard is 13-9 in 2012, sporting a four-match win streak entering this weekend. The Crimson beat Hartwick, 12-11 in overtime, on April 10. Aisha Price has a team-high 56 goals and Devan Kennifer has 50 goals and 36 helpers.
 
Brown has a 17-13 record this year. Its season statistics were not available at press time.
 
The Lakers will play on Sunday, with their opponent by the results of Saturday's action.
