NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Fourth-Ranked Mercyhurst women's hockey will be traveling to New Haven, Connecticut to take on Yale University in two non-conference contests at Ingalls Rink. The Lakers, coming off a bye weekend, are 10-1-1 this season. Yale, 1-7-0, dropped two games against No. 3 Clarkson and St. Lawrence last weekend.
The Lakers enter the weekend on a five game winning streak. The Lakers are seventh in the country on their power-play, averaging a 2.70 conversion, and are second best in the Nation averaging 4.92 goals per game.
The Lakers have a 10-0-1 lifetime against Yale University, dating back as far as December 3, 2000. The Lakers are a lifetime 4-0-0 at Ingalls Rink, facing the last time at Ingalls Rink on January 26, 2007. The Lakers beat the Bulldogs when former Laker Meghan Agosta scored four goals to win 5-4. In 2011, the two teams met at the Mercyhurst Ice Center for a two game-series. Five returning Lakers scored one or more point throughout the weekend sweep. On November 18, 2011, sophomore Molly Byrne
scored a goal and an assists, while senior Lauren Jones
scored two goals and an assists for three points. Byrne continued scoring on Saturday, November 19, when she notched two assists. Junior Christine Bestland

played in 20:00 minutes relieving Hillary Pattenden

Yale University started off their season 1-7, having their lone victory against Colgate back on October 26. In eight games, the Bulldogs have scored 11 goals and 17 assists. They are averaging 1.38 goals per game, and 18.2 shots per game. Freshman Janelle Ferrara in eight games has three goals and three assists. She is a +1, with one power play goal and one empty netter. Freshman Jamie Haddad also has six points on two assists and four games. She notched two power-play goals in eight games. Sophomore goaltender Jamie Leonoff in eight games has played 480:19 minutes, with a 3.25 goals against average, allowing 26 goals on 300 shots.
Puck is set to drop on Friday, November 16 at 7:00 p.m. at the Ingall Rink in New Hamden, Connecticut. The two teams will meet again Saturday, November 17 to complete the weekend series. The puck drops at 2:00 p.m.
