ERIE, Pa. - The Mercyhurst College wrestling team hosted the inaugural Laker Open on Nov.19 where there were 15 different teams that competed totaling180 wrestlers.   Freshman Kody Young highlighted the Lakers, finishing atop the 133lb class after winning four consecutive matches on the day.
 
Senior Fred Hale (285lb) and sophomore Michael Pollard (184lb) both battled in the championship bout, each placing second.  Sophomore Ryan Bohince and freshman August Mizia took third place while freshman Michael Griffith, sophomore Chaz Sheaffer, and freshman Richard Dowdley all placed in the top six in their respective weight class.
