ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst men's water polo team lost to Johns Hopkins Sunday morning at Penn State Behrend.
The game was tied at 1 after a quarter before the Blue Jays took control and scored three times in the second frame. JHU won the third period 3-0 to lead 7-2.
James Owen,
Colin McDonald, and
Alex Strong each scored a goal for Hurst.
Brett Luehmann had an assist and
Matt Cote recorded 10 saves in net.
Mercyhurst dropped to 13-8 with the defeat. The Lakers will now prepare for the Southern Championships at Princeton November 4-6. Hurst needs a top-four finish at the 11-team tournament to qualify for Easterns at Harvard November 18-20.
