ERIE, Pa. -- Former Mercyhurst College standout David Lough has been named to the Kansas City Royals Spring Training Camp roster.
Named one of the Kansas City Royals Top 10 Prospects by Baseball America, Lough is one of24 players invited to camp at Surprise, Ariz., in addition to the regular 40-man roster.
Lough starred for Mercyhurst from 2005-07 before being drafted 336th overall in the 11th round.
This season he spent time with the Class A Wilmington Blue Rocks and then was promoted to Class AA Northwest Arkansas Naturals. He won the George Brett Hitter of the Year Award as he led all Royals Minor Leaguers with a .325 average.
