Meadville, Pa. – The Mercyhurst women's tennis team split a pair of matches at the Allegheny Invitational Saturday afternoon. The women lost a close match to Case Western 5-4 and then swept St. Vincent 9-0.
McKenzie Cona and Samantha Zimmerman both had strong showings for the Lakers, winning their singles matches and then pairing up for the lone Lakers doubles victory against Case Western.
Against St. Vincent, Cona won her singles match in a shutout, while the team of Kim Ezzo and Meghan Raynor took the No. 1 doubles matches in a shutout. Kelton Macke and Zimmerman also won their doubles match in a shutout.
The Lakers return to action Sunday, Sept. 13th in a 1:00 p.m. match against Baldwin-Wallace.
